Why Does a Hummingbird Sing?

A hummingbird sings because,
God placed them here.
To sing a perfect melody,
To combat all our fears.

A hummingbird sings,
To signal a fresh new day.
Accompanying the sounds of children,
While the play.

A hummingbird sings because,
They are nature’s gifts.
Listening to their angelic tones,
Will give us such a lift.

A hummingbird sings,
To penetrate the silent…
In our bedrooms.
A musical backdrop…
For a newly wedded
Bride and groom.

A hummingbird sings because,
They love to be free.
They’re part of nature’s beauty,
Like the snow covered mountains
And the hilltop trees.

A hummingbird sings because,
God needed them in his song.
Part of a magical potion,
To turn a weak mind…
Into a mind that is strong.

A humming bird sings because,
They’re part of nature’s toy.
Depression,
Loneliness…
And despair,
Are things a hummingbird’s song…
Will destroy.

A hummingbird sings because,
It’s the only thing…
They know how to do.
Their songs have been known…
To turn gray skies blue.

But will a hummingbird sing…
If they’re caged up,
To never be free?
Taking away the soothing melody
Of a hummingbird,
Will have the same effects
As if we destroyed
All the trees.

So sing hummingbird,
Sing your angelic tones.
With you bringing love into our hearts,
We won’t be afraid to be alone.
