So, I went from using windows movie maker to using imovie to edit my movies and the switch has been magnificent. (I realized I was not using it to it's full potential). Yesterday, I did discover though that there were some major limitations that I kind of needed for the video that I was editing. I've been searching for a good editor for years and missed out on great discounts due to not really believing the hype. I tried the wondershare trial, I've tried open shot, and davinci resolve 16 beta does not work on my computer since it runs on intel. I've used a hack version of adobe premier pro (yes, I know what you're thinking), but it was a major learning curve and the laptop I had at the time was a deadbeat and could barely handle it.

So, is there any editor where I can simply pay a one time fee that isn't like $200?

Unfortunately the cheaper software is rather limited, I make use of Vegas pro 14, bought it on a special for $20 on the Humble store, also had a huge learning curve but it comes with the territory, the cheapest version Magix (owner of Vegas) Fastcut Plus edition for $50
I did see there was another special on Vegas pro 15 for $25 on the Humble store, might want to sign up to get frequent mails alerting about these offers
There is a free version of Fastcut, but I am really not sure how good or bad Fastcut in general is
Humble store - https://www.humblebundle.com/store
Fastcut - https://www.magix.com/us/video-editor/fastcut/

Keep in mind there is a lot of content creators who uses cracked versions of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Affects, Vegas and Photoshop etc. until they 'make it' to be able to afford the software, way too expensive to pay $200 plus for an hobby in my opinion

@ZAFuzzy BOOST Thanks for the help! I have a macbook though. I did some more research today, and ended up finding free activation code giveaways for filmora 9. So, I'll try that out since it's finally registered and see how that goes compared to what I'm using now. If I end up getting a windows computer in the near future, I'll definitely keep updated with Humble's deals.

Davinci Resolve is one of the most powerful editors for colour and now vfx, and fortuanley it has a free version for everyone to use and learn with. I've even made a few tutorials on it Smile

@tifi.natty BOOST I highly recommend Hitfilm Express. There's a pro version but tbh most people won't ever need the features the pro version offers.

@Gowlandr My computer can't handle it. And I'm not tech savvy enough nor is it that serious for me to upgrade it. Maybe one day, I'll be able to try it out. Thanks though!

@ViridianArmy Thanks, I've heard of it, but never looked into it. I guess I'll do that (:

Also, if anyone stumbles on this thread. I found a great video editing app for iPhones, it's called Vllo. You can do a lot with it and it's free, but if you want to use video PIP then it's a one time payment of $7.99 and that includes other templates, effects, etc... that you can use for your videos. It's mainly meant for vlogging, but it's very user friendly and it's quick to understand.

@tifi.natty BOOST Aha no worries, it is good once you learn. Maybe Try an earlier version with less features, the editor was alot simplier a few years ago say version 12 Smile

@JazamTV BOOST I used it for one of my videos and I think it may be too strong for my laptop because it kept glitching
